English Language Challenges

Hello everyone! This is our last blog and we have to write about our experience throughout this subject. I originally thought this subject was somehow related with the topics seen in our faculty. Turns out it’s not like that which allowed me a space to clear myself from college. About the blogs, I liked the idea of writting them. It helped me organize my thoughts, think about activities or hobbies that I genuinely enjoy which helped me to remember great memories and also think about my future and things I want to do. I would like to continue doing this type of activity. Maybe not writing in English because there will be no one that would correct my writing but probably in Spanish hahaha If I have to think of different aspects of my English that need to be improved I really have to get better at pronunciation and writting. I´ll keep trying to study and improve this aspect by listening and reading things in English such as watching documentaries or reading books in English. I kee

Changes to my study programme

H ello everyone. Todays topic is about changes I would like to do on my study programme. I already mentioned in my previous blog that I’m an Agriculture student and I’m already finishing my third year of college. This career it's focused basically on the different agronomic managements and methods that are required for the development and growth of plants and animals with the main goal of producing food and other products. This career is composed of a huge variety of subjects due to the diverse fields you can choose such as agroclimatology, soils, different irrigation mechanisms, production of fruits and vegetables, pest management and control, production of alcohol such as wine or different kinds of liquor and so much more. Honestly I don’t really know that much about presential classes because I only went to the campus the first year of college. What I loved about this experience was that we were able to participate of field trips to “Rinconada de Maipú” or do different ac

Time travel in the future

Hi everyone! This time we have to write about a moment or time we would like to travel in the future. Personally I never liked the idea of traveling to the future or past. Maybe because of the way it’s presented in movies. Like moving or even touching a tiny object could change everything once you come back to the present haha. To me that’s very stressful and even scary. It may feel that way because I’m a very pessimistic person. I’m always thinking or imagining the worst case scenario.   I would rather stay with the uncertainty and find out about my future by living day by day. But if I really have to choose an especific moment I would probably like to know what happened with my studies. Like what tipe of field in Agriculture I choose or what my job is. Nowadays this is one of my biggest concerns. I´m always reading or thinking about what I want to work or focus in the future. Maybe it´s because of University and the different subjects we have to take related to what we want to st

My future job

Hi everyone! This time I have to talk about my future job.  Since I was young I really wanted to become a vet. I loved the idea of saving animals and rescue them. However, at the time little did I know that taking care of animals or pets was a process way more complicated that involves an important knowledge of science, specifically biology which is something that I hate haha. Well not really hate but I've never liked it that much to the point of being part of my dream job. In that case I choose Agriculture, which briefly and primarily it is based in the production of food. I hope I could work in the field of Agroecology which basically is a much sustainable and enviromental friendly option of production of food that preserves water, soil, and the environment. Replacing the use of pesticides and agrochemicals with greener or echologic options. I think this is very important nowadays due to the climate change and global contamination that we are living.  Funny how I ended s

An important moment of my childhood

Imagen
This memory of my childhood is one of the most important I could ever remember. I'm talking about the times my family and I went to the cottage of Curacaví. This cottage belonged to a very loved friend of the family (Rest In Peace). Literally the entire family went there for the holidays. My cousins, grandparents, uncles, aunties, everyone to enjoy for a few days.  We used to do an incredible amount of activities and games. I remeber my dad climbing trees, everyone swimming in the pool (during the day and night), we also took walks through a tiny forest that was at the back of the cottage, we could play all day with my cousins and we ate incredible food prepared by my aunties and grandma. Sadly this cottage was selled to a cousin of our family's friend and it was completely renewed. Only our memories remain.  The most hilarious anecdotes with my family happened in this cottage.Truly my favorite and most important memories of my childhood. Remembering those times really ma

Hobbies

Imagen
Hi everyone! Today I have to talk about my favorite hobbies. They are quite common and nothing extraordinary but they really make feel at ease and happy. I remeber that I mentioned this on the first day of class. I said that I enjoy painting and drawing, this really helps me to relax and disconnect from the world for a little bit. I enjoy this since I was really young, actually I remember that all the time I was carrying a box filled with pencils everywhere I went. Other activities that I enjoy are listening to music. I can spend hours listenning to my favorite songs on my own without getting bored. I also enjoy hanging out with my friends. We love going to coffee shops. We actually look on social media trending or interesting coffee shops so we can try their food and of course coffe. And I also love watching movies, series, doramas and anime. Sadly I don’t have that much time to practice this hobbies because of University so I really hope that holidays would come soon! ( The pic

My best holidays (Lemuy Island: Yayanes Park)

Imagen
I can think of many holidays that I have had with my family but one of my favorites was the time when me and my dad traveled to Chiloe during winter vacations in 2018.  We stayed in Puerto Montt for two days and then we took the bus to Chiloe. We had to cross the Chacao’s watercourse by ferry. Once we arrived we visited so many beautiful and magestic places but definitely one of my favorites was the Yayanes Park. You have to cross over a suspension bridge to get to the park. Then walk through a path surrounded by nature to finally see a tiny but pretty waterfall. Also something really amazing about this place is that they sell hot chocolate and a kuchen made with nalca’s stem. Yes! The native plant of Chiloe. One of the most delicious kuchens I’ve ever tried.  This trip was one of my favourites. I was able to relax and enjoy with no worries. I hope I can repeat it very soon.
